The Interdisciplinary Conference Language and Politics - Between Linguistics and Political Science is an international scientific event that has been held regularly at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business since 2016. The main organizer is the Faculty of Applied Languages of the University of Economics in Bratislava in cooperation with the Institute of Political Sciences of Slovak Academy of Sciences and Society for Regional Policy at the SAS. The aim of the conference is to present the results of research into the phenomenon of political language from the perspective of experts from several scientific disciplines. Not only linguistics and political science, but also sociologists, economists, and experts in intercultural and mass media communication. Conference proceedings 2016, 2018 and 2020 are covered by Web of Science.
Focus on the conference
The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars and to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue about politics, linguistics and political discourse. It also provides a major interdisciplinary platform for scholars in linguistics and political science to present their latest research results, ideas, developments, and applications in all areas of research on the relationship between language and politics.
