Abstract: Although the Royal Spanish Academy in its latest orthography guide clearly specifies how to write these words correctly, there are still several variants to be found in the media. The FundéuRAE institution has created a glossary of the most frequently misused compound and prefixed words. This article aims to extract from the FundeúRAE glossary words that are thematically related to current military conflicts and to determine their correct or incorrect usage across Spanish-speaking countries in the web corpus Corpes XXI. The proper and incorrect orthographic forms are quantitatively evaluated. The article aims to identify the words that most frequently deviate from the orthography standard.
