Abstract: This paper examines the role of precedent phenomena in Slovak media discourse on the war in Ukraine. By analyzing news reports, opinion pieces, and commentary published between 2022 and 2025, it explores how these references activate collective memory, shape public interpretations of the conflict, and serve as rhetorical tools of persuasion. The findings suggest that precedent phenomena not only reflect historical analogies but also function as framing devices constructing multi-layered narratives that influence audience understanding and interpretation of current events.
