Abstract: The conference paper on the election programs of the totalitarian Nation-al Front (NF) as a formal political entity uniting the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (KSČ) and its satellite political parties for the elections to the District National Committee in Trenčín until 1989 and on the election programs for the municipal elections in Trenčín after this year presents their linguistic and content analysis. It investigates what linguistic expressions and stylistics were used by communist and democratic politicians in different political conditions in the same city – in Trenčín. The aim is to find out whether politicians from the aforementioned mutually antagonistic camps verbalized their program priorities similarly or differently.
